Position Details


  1. Collaborate with a team of Project Advisers to effectively oversee the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives
  2. Work closely with other Government agencies to ensure that policies can be enacted across Homes Victorian initiatives.
  3. Translate Big Housing Build project policies and initiatives (e.g., Gender Equity, Aboriginal Employment, Working for Victoria) into clear implementation strategies in business cases and project documentation

An exciting opportunity exists for a Specialist Adviser on a Full-time basis in the Commercial Development Unit

The Commercial Development Unit undertakes commercial, financial and policy analysis for transactions involving partnerships between Homes Victoria and third parties including Government agencies, financiers, developers, and community housing partners. It cultivates key relationships and legal arrangements to ensure that proposed transactions deliver on all stakeholders' expectations. It leads business case development, negotiations and transacts complex multiparty arrangements to unlock opportunities. It works across Homes Victoria to resolve policy, programmatic and strategic issues related to the above responsibilities.

The Specialist Adviser will be part of a collaborative and innovative team focused on identifying, analysing, and implementing innovative commercial structures and policy and programmatic solutions that support the growth of social and affordable housing in Victoria.

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  1. Understanding of commercial structuring in the in the context of infrastructure or property investments.
  2. Experience and/or qualifications in public policy, government, commerce, law, finance and/or consulting.
