Position Details

POSITION SUMMARY

-    Contributes to the department's ability to proactively support some of Victoria's most vulnerable populations throughout the pandemic and beyond.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Officer on a fixed term basis in the COVID-10 Outbreak Response team in Readiness, Response and Emergency Managment (RREM).

RREM supports Victorians to thrive by minimising the impact of emergencies, including the COVID health emergency, on the health and wellbeing of communities and individuals, including impact on the department's clients, services and assets. RREM has a particular focus on supporting COVID prevention and response for department's portfolios, especially higher risk settings, and acquitting department's overarching emergency management responsibilities in relief and recovery across all emergencies.

The Operational Policy and Planning team works across geographic and sector-specific work areas to support the operational response to the Covid pandemic, including prevention, preparedness, outbreak response and recovery activities for Victoria's vulnerable communities.

THE ROLE
Reporting initially to the Director of Operational Planning, but potentially reporting to others as circumstances demand, you would be involved in a range of tasks to support this busy team to enable our operational staff to respond swiftly to frequent changes in the COVID landscape in an effective, efficient and consistent manner.

The role includes supporting the team in the development of procedures and tools, outbreak record keeping, stakeholder coordination and liaison and staff induction and training.

The role requires the ability to operate in a complex and dynamic environment and will be required to exercise initiative and sound judgement. The changing nature of the pandemic may also require the Project Officer to support the team's policy and planning development work. Tasks may include forming stakeholder engagement plans, identifying stakeholder groups that may be affected by proposed policies and conducting research.

You would contribute to the department's ability to proactively support some of Victoria's most vulnerable populations throughout the pandemic and beyond.

MANDATORY VACCINATION POLICY

The department may require its employees to be fully vaccinated against preventable diseases such as the current coronavirus (COVID-19) based on Victorian Chief Health Officer's Directions as issued and updated from time to time.
