Position Details

THE ROLE

The Senior Project Officer works as part of a flexible and high performing team on a range of activities that deliver key workforce and industry reform projects in the Children and Families portfolio, homelessness, housing and disability portfolios or broad community services sector. Examples of the work include the implementation of the Child Protection Workforce Strategy 2021-2024, development and implementation of other workforce and industry strategies and establishment of the Frontline initiative.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Contribute to the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:
  1. Undertaking research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.
  2. Managing projects or sub-projects and being accountable for the successful delivery and completion of the projects/sub-projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters. 
  3. Monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
