Position Details
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager of Events, the Senior Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, organising and evaluating departmental and ministerial events. This role will work with Minister's offices, departmental staff and external event organisers to prepare relevant event documents, including event briefings, logistical information and run sheets, in line with agreed event processes and templates while ensuring events are delivered in an integrated and professional manner.
The incumbent will work closely with branch colleagues, the minister's office and relevant business areas within the department to ensure that delivery of events is efficient, cost-effective, and is clearly aligned to the department's strategic plan. They will collaborate with teams across the branch including other policy portfolios.
As appropriate, they may also be required to provide surge support to other policy portfolios or the Events team to ensure effective events services can be delivered by the Branch during peak periods.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Develop and implement policies and processes for events across the department and its ministers.
- Work closely with the relevant portfolio teams to identify event opportunities for ministers.
- Evaluate proposed events and provide advice to Ministerial Offices about Ministerial engagement at events with stakeholders
