Position Details
About the role:
The Digital Content Officer supports the delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of digital content across key departmental websites, health.vic.gov.au and Better Health Channel.
The role provides day-to-day publishing support, undertakes content updates aligned with accessibility and usability standards, and assists with projects that improve the quality, accuracy and effectiveness of public-facing health information.
This position works within the Digital Content team under the Digital Content Lead, contributing to timely, accurate and user-centred online information for Victorians.

About you:
Can you demonstrate the following?
- Review, update, coordinate and publish high-quality, accurate online content across department websites in line with departmental publishing workflows, content strategy and editorial plan, and respond to emergencies as required.
- Ensure all content meets departmental standards and guidelines, is accessible and optimised for the web.
- Use a job management system (JMS) to manage content requests and prepare content for publication; maintain project task updates in Asana.
- Coordinate and manage content review cycles in accordance with the schedule.
- Undertake routine audits (content, broken links, accessibility) and implement required fixes.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate collaboration across the department and with key external stakeholders.
Qualifications / Specialist Expertise
- A tertiary qualification in digital communications, digital production or another related discipline, or equivalent current experience, would be desirable.
- Experience in web publishing using content management and other content production systems.
- Experience creating content for high-profile public services.
- Understanding of website analytics, reporting and how to apply insights to improve digital content
- Knowledge of SEO practices
- Experience working collaboratively on cross-functional projects, or in a marketing function, would be desirable.
- Knowledge of Victorian Government digital standards, including the development of accessible content would be desirable.
- Understanding of the public service, health sector and the operation of government would be desirable.
