POSITION SUMMARY:

Working closely with the unit leadership team and the Office of the Deputy Secretary, the Senior Advisor will undertake a range of project work aimed at building capacity, capability and trust within Response Performance teams

Key accountabilities:

  • Support the high-level planning and prioritisation of the Executive Director's time and energy
  • Liaise with the Office of the Deputy Secretary to review, respond to and close-out Ministerial briefings, correspondence and requests in a timely manner
  • Provide specialist evidence-based policy and strategic advice to the Executive Director
  • Undertake and assist with research, preparation of complex reports, special projects and other work assignments
  • Monitor and report on high priority issues, risks and trends and prepare and present comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions on complex issues
  • Develop and maintain a range of systems, reporting and guidelines to track and manage information flows in and out of the Office of the Executive Director
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate the flow of information across the department and with key external stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement a range of activities that enhance performance and service delivery outcomes.
