Position Details

POSITION SUMMARY

The role will be responsible for overseeing the development of design briefs, ensuring quality standards and targets, quality assurance and quality control processes have been met and that design management plans are established, including the coordination of user group processes. The role will also manage the development of the design to meet the brief and the integration of fixtures, furniture and fittings, clinical and non-clinical equipment elements of the Project into the documentation.

Accountabilities:

  • 1)   Project manage the delivery of the functional design requirements of the Project to meet the Government project objectives, budget and community expectations including by.

a)     maintaining a copy of the Functional Brief updated to align with any Modifications to the functional design requirements
b)     maintaining a personal daily log of events relating to design management
c)      attending all relevant meetings and workshops including with the health agency, User Groups, the Reference Group, consultants and other stakeholders as required
d)     coordinating and reviewing stakeholder comments on relevant documents for compliance with the Project's contractual framework and Functional Brief.
e)     preparing monthly status reports for submission to the Project's Design and Technical Lead.

  • 2)     Manage and oversee the full life cycle of the Project to meet departmental objectives including preparing and presenting quality reports and work briefings in accordance with the Project's project management processes.
  • 3)     Ensure that the Project is delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
  • 4)     Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
  • 5)   Identify emerging issues, risk and trends impacting on the successful achievement of key business objectives and imperatives and issues and initiate risk management strategies to address them based on comprehensive research and investigations.
  • 6)     Formulate compliance and evaluation strategies to address specific issues related to the effective provision and implementation of required outcomes.
  • 7)     Pro-actively build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
  • 8)     Proactively resolve problems and facilitate positive outcomes.
  • 9)     Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
  • 10)  Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures. Monitor OHS compliance associated with the design and constructability of the project and proactively address issues as they arise.
  • 11)  Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
  • 12)  Prepare monthly status reports and submit to the Design and Technical Lead.
