Victoria Health Building Authority (VHBA) is now looking for a highly-motivated Senior Project Manager to join the Barwon Women's & Children's (BWC) Project team!
This position will report to the BWC Senior Project Specialist and otherwise be accountable to the BWC Project Director.
Key responsibilities of this role include but not limited to:
- Overall responsibility for management of the Managing Contractor contract and consultant agreemetns (including monthly claim assessment and reviewing potential variations with integrity and fairness)
- Oversee the tracking of all other obligations and rights of the Department of Health under the contracts.
- Assist the BWC Finance Officer and VHBA Finance team with tracking and managing project budget. This includes monitoring of current expenditures/forecases and cash flow projections and liaising with the Project Quantity Surveyor in its reporting obligations on project costs.
- Managing commercial and financial issues arising from consultancy agreements
- Assisting the Project team in issue resolution, government process (e.g. gateways) and periodic reporting.
This position will be expected to work with autonomy and accountability whilst ensuring they remain consistent with High Value High Risk practices and policies implemented by the Department of Treasury and Finance.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated ability in managing large complex contracts with ability to provide high-level, strategic contract administration advice, including recent experience in construction contracts
- Exceptional commercial acumen, project management, advisory, negotiation, communicationand relationship building skills
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively within a politically sensitive context
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
Whilst not essential, experience in working in a large social infrastructure project and experience in delivery of health project will be highly regarded. A tertiary qualification or experience in project management, construction, or engineering are not essential, but would also be well regarded.
