Regional Public Health Operations Teams work to improve population health and wellbeing outcomes and to reduce health inequalities through evidence-informed prevention and earlier intervention activity.

This position is a senior role within Regional Public Health Operations and is accountable for leading population health functions across the region, including prevention and health promotion system capability building, place-based planning and implementation, local investment management, reporting processes, and the use of population health data, evidence, and outcomes-based thinking. The core functions include taking a lead role in the support for local governments in the southern metropolitan part of the region to meet the legislative requirements of municipal public health and wellbeing planning aligned with the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan, and the local management of the Community Health and Women's Health - health promotion programs.

The role involves the development and implementation of agreed work plans, service monitoring, quality improvement, and a focus on innovative approaches to prevention and population health, in collaboration with funded organisations, local governments and other partners.

The role contributes to policy implementation through collaboration with Prevention and Population Health branch policy teams and provides local intelligence and feedback into statewide policy processes.

Therefore, the department will ask any prospective employee, who has been identified as the preferred candidate for a role within the department, to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination status prior to any offer of employment being made.
