    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    Senior Project Officer - Patient Safety, Experience and Response Team

     The Senior Project Officer will provide leadership and project support to the Patient Safety, Experience and Response Team in the Centre for Patient Safety and Experience. The role will support the development program initiatives such as the Sentinel Event Program. The Sentinel Event Program enables Safer Care Victoria (SCV) to maintain oversight of the response to, review of and improvements resulting from serious adverse patient safety events in Victorian health services. This includes providing feedback and advice to Victorian health services on incident response and developing more effective, systems-based approaches to improving patient safety. The role entails liaison with other relevant areas within SCV, the Department of Health and with Victorian health services.

    Are you:

    • Experienced in the review of adverse events using methodologies such as RCA, AcciMap or London Protocol?
    • Skilled in mentoring, coaching and building effective working relationships with stakeholders?
    • An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills?
    • Experienced in solving complex problems in a fast paced high pressure environment?
    • A systems thinker with a background or interest in human factors?
    • A team player who likes to contribute to working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to build and deliver shared commitment?
    • Passionate about improving patient experiences and driving quality and safety in health care across Victoria?

    Mandatory Vaccination Policy

    The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its workers and clients. As it is an essential element of any role within the department that employees be able to attend work onsite and to do so safely, employees are required to be up-to-date with their vaccinations against COVID-19 as a condition of their employment.
