About the role: 

The Client Office provides a key interface between the delivery agency (building authority) and the Department of Health (the department) to manage concise and timely advice and clarification of project requirements, guidance on governance processes, reviews and approvals for any changes to ensure that infrastructure projects integrate into the health system and the intended benefits are realised. 

This role will support the Client Office senior leadership team to manage the overall program of projects moving through the assurance process. 

As the Project Manager, Program Assurance, you will be responsible for ensuring systems are developed and implemented that provide comprehensive and accurate advice on the status of projects. This will include providing expertise relating to system tools to support thorough record-keeping for all project documentation such as service and asset planning advice, client requirements documentation, final planning documents and change decisions.  

A key requirement of the role will be providing specialist technical systems engineering advice to a broad range of stakeholders and contributing to continuous improvement in assurance processes and practices within the System Planning Division.

About you:

With the significant number of health infrastructure projects in development or delivery, a strong client side interface to represent the client requirements and interests is required. This ensures that as projects evolve they remain focused on delivering benefits to the health system as originally intended in line with clinical and broader health system priorities identified. 

You will: 

  • Be a high performing individual with strong systems engineering, network assurance, policy development and communication skills 
  • Have highly developed written communication and computer literacy skills to continue the development of the assurance frameworks and support the development of key assurance documentation. 
  • Have a keen interest in developing, implementing and maintaining systems and documentation which will support the Client Office to meet its objectives. 
  • Be a great communicator, to share your expertise with many different audiences

Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate 

  • Proven experience with systems engineering, requirements development and /or outcomes definition for infrastructure projects. 
  • Systems thinking and an understanding of the broader health system and context within which projects are delivered.   
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels, forging useful partnerships with people across business areas, promote consensus through diplomatic handling of different opinions.
