Position Details

About the role: 2 x Ongoing Roles, Full time

The Senior Asset Projects Officer plays a key role in providing technical support and advice to the Asset Planning unit. The role advises on technical requirements for infrastructure assets ensuring newly developed assets and projects are seamlessly integrated into the system. The role is responsible for implementing required frameworks, processes and technical aspects impacting the long-term outcomes for maximising the asset whole-of-life and return on investment

The role will also support / facilitate

  • Planning, Development & Implementation processes
  • Implementation of Processes, Systems & Tools
  • Reporting and Collaborating with stakeholders on key metrics while also facilitating feedback for the frameworks operational issues

About you:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health infrastructure, asset management, and engineering maintenance, as well as the operational realities that health services are operating in. They will possess the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to optimise health infrastructure performance over the long term. Strong technical knowledge and analytical skills are essential, complemented by excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

  • Provide high-quality engineering and asset management intelligence, advice, and sound technical recommendations to management and government based on infrastructure designs, construction, and operations in a health setting.
  • Provide guidance, and advice to internal and external stakeholders. Prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet, and agency submissions on complex matters.
  • Seek out and implement innovative methods and technologies to enhance asset management and project outcomes. Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to health infrastructure and minor capital projects. Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure project success and safety.

Futhermore the succesful candidates will be required to have knowledge of the following Qualifications / Specialist Expertise

Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering discipline or equivalent technical degree is required. 

Specialist Expertise

  • A strong understanding of the Australian health system, including operational or project experience in hospital facilities, engineering or medical assets, will be strongly preferred.
