Position Details

About the role: 

The Senior Functional Analyst supports the Communities and Families Portfolio, working collaboratively within a small team to implement a range of solutions and initiatives. The role is central to defining business problems, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains or enhanced customer service, and translating these into actionable system designs.

Key responsibilities include gathering and analysing business requirements, assessing alignment with existing products, and providing expert advice on functional specifications. The analyst documents user stories and both functional and non-functional requirements in line with established standards, and designs system solutions that leverage technology to deliver high-quality outcomes.

This role is pivotal in delivering program releases and ensuring adherence to best practices throughout the delivery lifecycle. It also involves stakeholder engagement, reporting, quality assurance, and risk management. The Senior Functional Analyst works closely with business sponsors and steering committees to ensure solutions are aligned with strategic objectives and deliver measurable value.

About you:

Can you demonstrate the following?

  • Build domain expertise in business applications and processes to enhance stakeholder engagement and optimize solution design.
  • Acquire and apply system configuration skills for department approved SaaS platforms.
  • Lead the elicitation and analysis of business requirements, ensuring alignment with product capabilities and program goals.
  • Offer strategic advice on functional requirements and design implications, including cross-program considerations.
  • Ensure compliance with government, eHealth, and ETB strategies and policies, including adherence to the PDM and other endorsed methodologies.
  • Design tailored system solutions that leverage technological advancements to achieve high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications / Specialist Expertise

Qualifications

  • A relevant IT related degree or qualification will be highly advantageous to this role.
  • Certification in PRINCE 2 or other project management methodology is highly desirable.
  • Agile project experience will be advantageous.

Specialist Expertise

  • Previous experience as a Senior Functional Analyst working on successful ICT projects including large software application development implementations.
  • Previous experience in a wide range of project delivery methodologies including Agile and SDLC.
  • Previous experienced in delivering agile projects.
  • Previous experience in a wide range of technologies in custom development and package implementations.
  • Desirable experience working in Government sector.

Desirable experience working in Oracle CRM products.
