Position Summary:

Working within one of 17 department areas in the Placement Coordination Unit, this innovative fixed term position will drive positive changes and enhance the life outcomes for children and young people across each of the Department of Health and Human Services' areas. The Kinship Engagement Coordinator will work under the new model of kinship care, to be rolled out across Victoria in March 2018, in the early identification of potential kinship carers in a child or young person's network and supervising staff providing ongoing kinship placement support.

There are a total of 3 vacancies – corresponding to each department area. The role, which commences 1st March 2018, will require travel within and outside the department area.

  • A strengths based practitioner who is child centred and family focused with a commitment to securing positive outcomes and enhancing opportunities for children and young people accessing out of home care?
  • A problem solver with excellent engagement, negotiating and influencing skills and an inclusive management style?
  • Comfortable with supporting new initiatives, policy and processes?
