Position Summary:

As a member of the Office for Director team, provide high level budget, financial and performance analysis and advice to the Director, Assistant Directors and senior managers of the Diversity and Community Capacity Branch. The Senior Budget Officer will provide support to the Assistant Director and Principal Policy Officer to drive foundational improvements in the unit budget settings, seeking to better align systems with current operational settings and better empower managers to have ownership of budgets.

Are you

  • An experienced budget officer with deep knowledge of department systems and processes?
  • A self-motivated worker who can show initiative to solve problems and improve financial settings?
  • Able to demonstrate a record of achievement in the provision of strategic advice to senior management on resource management and allocation?
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to apply expertise to non-routine or complex data, resulting in establishing high quality options or alternatives and recommendations?
