Position Summary:

As part of the Directorate unit supporting the Chief Information Officer of the Department and within the Business Technology and Information Management (BTIM) branch, the Senior Capability Adviser provides strategic guidance and advice to the branch to ensure we have the right people with the right skills in the right roles at the right time. Working closely with Executive managers in the branch the role has an increased focus on the shifting skill landscape applicable to specialist technical expertise in a public sector environment.

The role leads the branch activities which support core themes of the department's People Strategy:

The Senior Capability Adviser is responsible for the development, initiation and management of initiatives focused on developing leadership capabilities, identifying future capability gaps and assisting to develop team and individual training plans, driving cultural change towards a more responsive, customer orientated provider of ICT services and to address branch areas for improvement from the department's annual ‘people matters' survey.
