Position Summary:

The Victorian Health & Human Services Building Authority (VHHSBA) is responsible for the delivery of an ongoing capital investment program (circa $1Bn per annum). The program includes responsibility for the development of asset strategies as well as the planning, development and delivery of new build and redevelopment infrastructure projects.

The Senior Planning Officer: manages projects planning for the future delivery of health services across Victoria (including, service plans, models of care and functional briefs); manages Financial Business Case projects; provides secretariat support to committees; and prepares Departmental correspondence.

Embedded in the Planning and Development Unit, the role will work closely with, and support directly, the functional branches of the VHHSBA, including Asset Strategy and Capital Delivery, plus other branches in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The role will also need to collaborate effectively with other government agencies, plus health and human service providers.

The successful applicant will have a firm understanding of the Victorian health system and the provision of health services; a positive track record in project management; the capacity to work flexibly as a member of a broader team; a demonstrated ability to turn policy and ideas into workable solutions in a complex and sensitive government environment; and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
