Position Summary:

The Principal Portfolio Manager, Priority Projects will be responsible for the identification and implementation of the Director of Housing Projects and other policy initiatives. The role will also have a business development orientation identifying other government agencies to work with to delivery social housing outcomes.

It will:

  • routinely advise senior stakeholders on progress and request input into operational functions. 
  • manage the Technical, Relocation and Commercial areas of the Priority Project Unit. 
  • manage the projects within budget, to time and within scope
  • coordinate the preparation of briefs on highly complex issues that provide options for decision at the highest level of the department 
  • initiate and manage negotiations with key stakeholders including Tenants, Communities, Councils, Community Housing and private sectors
  • A technical expert in the structuring and delivery of renewal projects?
  • Able to identify new and emerging strategic issues impacting on high risk/high value projects?
  • Able to participate in strategic planning and contribute to strategic decision making processes?
