Position Summary:

This position will play a key role in the development of a strategic agenda specifically for the role of public sector residential aged care in an environment of significant Commonwealth reform and emerging issues. This environment will also be further impacted by the recent Commonwealth announcement of a Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.  Responsibility for care for older people and aged care services sit across multiple areas of the department and aged care services are generally organizationally part of hospitals and health services. This work will require effective collaboration across the Department. Victoria's role and strategic directions will be cognisant of Commonwealth policy directions for the benefit of older vulnerable Victorians, enable provision of integrated care and deliver optimal efficiency and effectiveness of the health and human service system. The role also requires research and policy skills to form strategic advice to Executives and Government.
