Position Summary:

 

Reporting to the Manager, Legislative Reform, you will work as part of a small team that is focused on developing legislative reforms arising from recommendations made by Targeting Zero: supporting the Victorian hospital system to eliminate avoidable harm and strengthen quality of care, the report of the Review of Hospital Safety and Quality Assurance in Victoria led by Dr Stephen Duckett. This work supports significant reform across the department and public and private health sectors to deliver a contemporary, safe and high quality Victorian health system.

 

Your work will cut across various program areas within the department and its administrative offices Safer Care Victoria and the Victorian Agency for Health Information. This will include coordinating monitoring and reporting on implementation of the recommendations made by Targeting Zero, as well as supporting processes to consult and engage internal and external stakeholders and develop legislative reforms. An ability to synthesise complex information and understand its policy context is required. Sound analytical and relationship management skills, writing skills, and an ability to manage tight deadlines and work in a small team and independently are important.
