Position Summary:

The Project Officer, Child Safeguarding Regulations will contribute to implementing, coordinating and strengthening safeguarding regulations to advance the interests of vulnerable children and young people receiving services regulated by the department.

The team will be responsible for leading the implementation of regulatory projects and operational policy on two key initiatives arising from the Victorian Government's response to the Parliamentary Inquiry into the Handling of Child Abuse by Religious and Other Non-Government Organisations: the implementation of new Child Safe Standards for organisations engaged in child-related work; and the implementation of the reportable conduct scheme.

The incumbent will support the administration of the carers register (including supporting the 24 hour / 7 day per week telephone line).
