Position Summary:

Manager, Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Review Board Secretariat

A unique and exciting opportunity exists to manage a team at Safer Care Victoria within the Secretariat to the Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) Review Board.

The VAD Review Board is a regulatory and review Board, overseeing and monitoring the implementation and operation of voluntary assisted dying in Victoria. You will manage the team at Safer Care Victoria that provides the secretariat function to the Board.  You will build effective working relationships across the team and with the VAD review board and maintain the highest level of quality in delivery.

The role requires an experienced leader who can analyse complex information, is highly organised and is comfortable working in a time-pressured and politically sensitive environment. 

Are you

  • A strong communicator with excellent attention to detail, who is thorough and accurate?
  • From a healthcare background, with experience managing a team who are under constant pressure?
  • Experienced in managing external stakeholders who may be dealing with distress, grief or bereavement?
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, working to short and constantly changing deadlines?
  • Someone who is compassionate and empathetic, with high levels of accountability?  
  • Experienced in providing support to an executive level committee or Board?
