Position Summary:

The Senior Communications and Events Officer, plays a pivotal role in leading the West Division’s communications and events, ensuring consistency and alignment with both operational and departmental priorities. The role will provide communications and events support on key projects impacting the West Division, and play an important role in showcasing the achievements of the division’s people and programs. The role sits within the Office of the Deputy Secretary, West Division but will work closely with, and where required take direction from, the department’s Head of Corporate Communications to ensure strategic alignment and consistency of messaging with broader departmental communications.

  • able to develop communications strategies and products that can genuinely engage and influence thinking and behaviour?
  • a great writer who can respond quickly to emerging issues and meet tight deadlines?
  • clever at identifying new and effective communications channels and opportunities to engage internal and external stakeholders?
  • experienced in managing events processes and associated communications and briefing products?
