The Recruitment Services branch within People and Culture provides expert advice and support to the Department of Justice and Regulation on all recruitment related matters, including attraction, selection, redeployment and other recruitment and retention practices.

Working within the department's strategic objective of 'building a high performing justice system', Recruitment Services delivers consultative, progressive, innovative, fair and ethical recruitment solutions.

About the Role

As the Aboriginal Recruitment Business Partner you will be a strong advocate in promoting the department as an employer of choice for Aboriginal people through targetted, culturally inclusive Aboriginal attraction and selection activities. 

You will provide detailed advice to regional stakeholders at all levels on issues relating to Aboriginal employment and culture, as well as informing colleagues and stakeholders on associated policies and legislation which currently impact upon the Victorian Aboriginal community.  

As the Aboriginal Recruitment Business Partner, you will also be accountable for maintaining effective partnerships with internal and external regional stakeholders to deliver a range of recruitment support.  This role is pivotal in ensuring that target hires are achieved for identified, designated and mainstream roles across Corrections Victoria.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Koori community, both society and culture and the issues impacting on it
  • a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Koori community
  • excellent presentation, influencing and negotiation skills in order to achieve organisational objectives.
