An exciting opportunity exists for a Safety and Security Officer on an ongoing basis in Recruitment Services, People and Culture.

About us

The Recruitment Services branch within People and Culture provides expert advice and support to the department on all recruitment related matters, including attraction, selection, redeployment and other recruitment and retention practices. Working within the Department of Justice and Community Safety's (the department) strategic objective of “building a high performing justice system”, Recruitment Services delivers consultative, progressive, innovative, fair and ethical recruitment solutions.

About the role

The Safety and Security Officer ensures all pre-employment security checks are actioned in accordance with projected processing timeframes. The Safety and Security Officer is responsible for processing pre-employment checks, providing advice to the business, communicating with candidates and liaising with other relevant stakeholders.

About you

As our successful candidate, you will demonstrate:

  • experience working in a fast paced processing function
  • experience in customer service and the ability to work with confidential information
  • sound problem solving skills
  • great planning and organisation skills, with a good eye for detail
  • advanced computer skills
  • good teamwork.
