IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its employees consistent with the department's obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic). Therefore, there is a requirement that all DJCS employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes.

At interview stage and prior to commencement of employment with the department, you will need to provide evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 with three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. 

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

Acceptable evidence includes:

  • COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
  • Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.

About the Business Unit

The Justice Assurance and Review Office (JARO) is a business unit in the Integrity, Legal and Law Reform (ILLR) group which operates as an internal review and assurance function to advise the Secretary, Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) on the performance of the youth justice and corrections systems. JARO exists separately and independently from the department's Youth Justice group and Corrections Victoria, and acts as an additional line of defence against emerging and enduring risk within each system.

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager, Reviews, The IPVS Project Coordination Officer will:

  • Apply processes authoritatively to resolve IPVS operational issues and manage the day to day administration of the IPV Scheme, including the reviewing, actioning and circulating IPV reports, and liaison with volunteers and prison management when required.
  • Manage the secretariat function for IPV working groups and assist with the coordination of regular recruitment and performance and development processes.
  • Prepare reports, briefs and correspondence, including recommendations for action, on complex issues affecting the IPVS for the manager's decision.

 

About you

As our ideal candidate you will have: 

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in analytical report writing and briefing.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic, changeable and sometimes unpredictable environment.
