Position Details

Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) is Victoria's consumer regulator. Our vision is a fair and competitive marketplace in Victoria.  Regulatory Services incorporates several business units covering Information and Analysis, Regulatory Transaction Services, Legal Services, Performance and Outcomes and Investigation Services (IS).  IS delivers compliance and enforcement functions including investigating businesses and individuals alleged to have breached consumer protection law in Victoria. 

 

A newly created leadership opportunity exists reporting to the General Manager, Investigation Services to provide leadership to the Investigation Branch and delivering core operational requirements. The Operations Manager is critical to workforce planning, optimisation of workloads and developing the relevant teams to deliver compliance and enforcement outcomes that support the CAV's journey to achieving regulatory excellence. The Operations Manager will work closely with other senior managers and team leaders to promote an operational understanding required for the divisions current and future success.

As a member of broader Regulatory Services Leadership Team, you will support the operationalisation and implementation of relevant compliance and enforcement activities supporting CAV's strategic priorities. 

 

We are seeking an experienced professional who can demonstrate a breadth of experience from the private or public sectors in leading and managing complex investigations.  You will need to champion the development, implementation and maintenance of best practice investigation frameworks including contribution to the development and maintenance of operational policy and procedures.  You will also ensure appropriate operational practices around planning of investigations including execution and demand forecasting within investigations process.

 

People management, strong interpersonal and the ability to influence and negotiate are paramount to the success of this role.
