Position Details

Consumer Affairs Victoria is currently seeking two (2) Senior Project Officers to join their team on a Fixed-Term, Full Time basis for 12 months.

About us

Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) is Victoria's consumer regulator. Our vision is a fair and competitive marketplace in Victoria. We:

  • provide information to business, consumers, landlords and tenants about their rights and responsibilities
  • register and license organisations and occupations
  • ensure compliance with consumer laws, and
  • review and advise government about Victoria's consumer protection framework.

The Strategy and Governance branch drives the design and implementation of CAV's strategic direction, and ensures we deliver the operational and transformation agenda in an integrated and efficient way. We ensure the alignment of departmental direction and obligations with CAV's business outcomes and performance. Our people provide expertise in:

  • Strategic oversight, assurance and governance
  • Organisational design and change
  • Planning, monitoring and reporting
  • Project management 
  • Public accountability
  • Internal communications.

About the role

The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for the coordination and management of various projects across Consumer Affairs Victoria. This will include undertaking detailed planning and scheduling, coordinating resources, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and utilising project management disciplines to ensure projects are implemented in an effective and timely manner.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • proven ability to plan, monitor and manage significant and complex projects within a legislative framework and to time and budget
  • demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with stakeholders, addressing complex issues to broker shared solutions in new areas
  • superior written and verbal communications skills, including proven ability to create clear, evidence-based reports and deliver presentations to project stakeholders and senior management.

Formal qualifications in Project Management, or a demonstrated understanding of the department's Project Management Excellence (PME) or other project management framework are desirable.
