Position Details

  • Utilise your Case Management expertise to provide support and advice to the Civil and Enforcement Services branch
  • A Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service until 1st February 2025
  • CYF3: $89,161 - $100,293 plus superannuation.

About the Business Unit:

Adoption Services is part of the Civil and Enforcement Services Group of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

Adoption Services delivers a range of services under the Adoption Act 1984, including counselling to people considering placing a child for adoption, assessing people to be approved to adopt a child from Victoria or overseas, and providing records to people who have been affected by past adoptions.

About the Role:

An Advanced Case Manager within Adoption Services may be responsible for any or all the following: providing counselling, assessing families, writing reports for court, liaising with agencies including those that are overseas, supervising and supporting placement, preparing records for release, searching for family and providing an intermediary between people separated by adoption.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Assisting parents considering placing a child for adoption
  • Assessing families seeking to adopt a child
  • Overseeing the arrangements for children placed for adoption
  • Supporting people seeking adoption information and records.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Well-developed knowledge of government and the justice system, including issues and pressures to which the department and government has to respond
  • Demonstrated experience in providing leadership, guidance and performing effectively under pressure in a dynamic and politically sensitive environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and extensive experience in preparing and coordinating timely, concise and accurate briefings.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in a related discipline would be highly desirable.
