About us

The Community Safety Building Authority (CSBA) within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) has been established to design, procure, build and upgrade the infrastructure needed to keep communities safe.

CSBA provides end-to-end project management and delivery of Victoria's new prisons, youth justice centres, court and custody facilities, emergency services facilities and public safety features such as pedestrian walkway bollards and CCTV networks. As well as delivering new infrastructure CSBA modernises, expands and upgrades existing facilities.

CSBA is resourced with a highly skilled workforce that supports the development, procurement and delivery oversight of major projects. The team within CSBA includes specialists in community safety infrastructure, project management and design.

CSBA has three business units - the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Major Projects and Program Delivery.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Governance and Assurance, the Senior Advisor, Governance and Assurance will provide secretariat support for the newly established Board, as well as high level strategic and governance advice across CSBA to assist the delivery of its capital works program. In this role, you will:

  • provide high level secretariat and governance advice and support to the CSBA Advisory Board, including leading and coordinating the development of Board and Committee agendas, submission of quality papers and maintenance of records
  • undertake complex research, analyse complex policy development and delivery issues and risks including the identification and resolution of emerging issues, risks and trends impacting on the achievement of key government and departmental objectives
  • manage relationships with key stakeholders, identify emerging issues with stakeholders to create shared solutions and lead internal and external stakeholder engagement to ensure the secretariat function is effective.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • demonstrated experience in the provision of secretariat services in a public service environment
  • demonstrated ability to analyse complex policy and program issues and provide accurate and strategic advice
  • sound understanding of project management and associated tools.

Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience within a governance environment would be desirable.
