Position Details
About the business unit
The Payroll Operations function sits within Payroll and Workforce Operations and is responsible for end-to-end payroll including taxation, superannuation, salary sacrifice, processing of timesheets (manual and electronic), and the provision of high-quality advice to a range of stakeholders both internal and external.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll Operations, this role leads and mentor a team of payroll specialists to ensure payroll compliance is met, analyse complex payroll issues, apply resolutions, manage remedial actions and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Some of your duties will include:

Manage remedial actions for identified payroll issues, develop and implement process improvements.

Oversee payroll-related changes, including salary increases and global updates in line with the VPS Agreement and organisational directives.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Payroll and Workforce Operations team to identify and resolve issues impacting payroll service delivery.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Knowledge of VPS conditions of employment - particularly in relation to shift work.

Significant experience and proficiency in the use of CHRIS21 or other payroll systems.

Ability to interpret and provide advice on departmental policies and legislation.

Experience in process design and documentation or project management
