Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. An exciting opportunity exists for a Manager, Sentence Calculation and Warrant Administration on an ongoing, full time basis in the Sentence Management Division.

The Sentence Management Division is responsible for identifying prisoners' needs and matching them to correctional resources within the objective of placing and managing prisoners appropriately.

Sentence Calculation and Warrant Administration, a unit of almost 30 staff within Sentence Management Division, is responsible for the interpretation of warrants, the correct calculation of sentences and supporting Corrections Victoria's task of producing individuals to Courts in a timely manner.

The role of Manager, Sentence Calculation and Warrant Administration is responsible for overseeing the effective and efficient function and performance of the unit. This involves overseeing the unit's busy operational functions, as well as identifying process improvements and driving change.   

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge and/or ability to interpret State and Federal legislation relating to the operation of the Sentence Calculation and Warrant Administration unit, (in particular the Sentencing Act 1991 and the Magistrates Court Act 1989) (desirable).
  • Broad experience in a records management environment, both manual and computerised, including the supervision of records management staff in the achievement of organisational goals (desirable).
