Position Details

An exciting opportunity exists in the department's Strategic Communication Branch for an experienced digital publisher and strategist.

About us

The Strategic Communication Branch delivers communication services on behalf of the department's business units to inform and educate the community about departmental policies, programs and legislation.

The Digital Communication team manages the department's corporate digital communication channels including web, intranet, social media and community engagement tools. We also work with the business to ensure that all digital communication channels meet mandatory standards and industry best practice.

About the role

As the Senior Adviser, Digital Communication, you will provide digital advice and support for key initiatives across the department. In the role you will:

  • research and provide specialist advice on the use of practical and effective digital solutions to inform, educate and engage the community
  • advise key stakeholders on how to conduct user research, build business cases and develop content strategy
  • provide guidance and recommendations to key stakeholders on optimising the performance of digital channels
  • provide procurement and project management support for digital initiatives
  • write, edit, publish and approve content across the department's corporate channels.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • extensive experience in digital publishing, user research, business case development and evaluation, project implementation and performance monitoring (analytics)
  • demonstrated knowledge and experience in using and developing digital channels for communication, engagement and service delivery. Preferred experience with Drupal
  • previous experience in defining and measuring digital usage to report business outcomes and optimise performance.
