  • A Fixed-Term, Full-Time opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public Service until 30th April 2026
  • VPS Grade 5: $109,730 - $132,764 plus superannuation.

About the Business Unit:

Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination group within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). VSSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of our justice system, as well as direct service provision through a range of programs including the Victims of Crime Helpline, Victims Register, the Victims Assistance Program, Child Witness Service and the Intermediary Program. VSSR is also responsible for designing and building a new administrative Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS), following on from the Victorian Law Reform Commission's review of the current system of financial assistance for victims of crime.

About the Role:

The Senior Project Officer, Operational Performance provides practice and technical leadership in a small team of data analysts working on reporting and evaluation across VSSR. The role will support the team to conduct business as usual reporting across multiple services using Salesforce and Resolve applications, and contribute to a range of data and process reform to improve operational performance across VSSR.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Acting as a Practice/Technical lead for the Operational Performance team's contribution to operational performance reform and reporting (for example, State Budget reporting (BP3), annual reporting requirements and contributions to reviews/strategies) across VSSR
  • Conducting high-level analysis of client services information needs, including operational performance of VSSR and DJCS funded services, and using this robust evidence to inform management of emerging issues and risks
  • Representing VSSR on DJCS and whole of government research, policy and operational initiatives affecting victims of crime through the provision of timely, accurate and comprehensive collation and analysis of operational performance related data and narrative.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Thorough expertise and knowledge of performance reporting including data collection, statistical analysis, production of management/stakeholder reports, and applications such as MS Excel, SPSS and Strata
  • A wealth of knowledge and experience using RESOLVE and Salesforce database software applications or similar
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts in ways that are clear and accessible for stakeholders.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and experience is desirable.
