Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. Any above base requests require sign off by an executive delegate and will be by exception only or where required to match the current salary of Victorian Public Service staff transferring at level.

Position Details

About us

Strategic Planning is a business unit within Service Strategy Reform division that looks after the strategic planning framework, outlines strategic priorities and manages the provision of strategic advice and coordination on key departmental strategies.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Planning, the Manager Planning will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the department's corporate planning processes, including plan development, consulting, facilitating and high level planning advice. The role is also responsible for the delivery of the Department of Justice and Regulation Annual Report each year.

As the Manager Planning, you will:

  • lead the communication and rollout of the Integrated Planning Framework
  • develop plans in accordance with Department of Treasury and Finance requirements and the DJR outcomes framework
  • participate in planning communities of practice across government
  • play a key role in the Strategic Planning leadership team
  • lead a small team of staff, facilitating their learning and development and managing their performance.

Please note this is a fixed term opportunity until January 13, 2019.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have demonstrated experience in:

  • strategic planning and contributing to high level corporate frameworks
  • change management and strong organisational awareness
  • leadership skills and managing teams, including performance management, professional development and monitoring and reviewing performance indicators to focus on continuous improvement
  • preparing written material for a range of audiences with strong influence and negotiation skills.
