About Us:

The Road Safety Camera Program (RSCP) within the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination Portfolio is responsible for management of day-to-day operations of the fixed, mobile and trailer based Road Safety Camera System networks, including monitoring of the camera systems operational status, ensuring compliance of systems with departmental standards and management of camera contractors, testing and maintenance.

The RSCP utilises numerous systems (including a Computerised Maintenance Management System) to support the efficient management of assets across the Mobile, Fixed and Trailer based Road Safety Camera networks. The Computerised Maintenance Management System serves as a centralised hub for overseeing and optimising the management of all work activities undertaken at Road Safety Camera Sites.

About the Role:

The role of a Technical Specialist (Product Manager) sits within the RSCP) and reports to the Senior Manager, Road Safety Camera Operations and Compliance. This role is focused on managing the entire product development lifecycle including post implementation enhancement. By actively engaging in the enhancement process, the role of a Technical Specialist (Product Manager) will contribute to the evolution of all products, including the Computerised Maintenance Management System, to meet the changing needs and technological advancements within the road safety domain.

The role will work closely with the Senior Manager and Manager of Operations to align the product enhancements with the broader goals and objectives of the RSCP. This involves understanding the operational requirements, compliance standards, and strategic priorities of RSCP. The role will be working in a technical and outsourced environment, managing a variety of stakeholder groups, third party providers and their associated documentation.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing expert-level technical support to address more complex user issues and system-related challenges. This role will play a key role in troubleshooting, resolving complex technical problems, and provide Level 2 issue resolution.
  • Overseeing the planning and execution of system updates, vendor contract management, enhancements, and maintenance releases including coordinating solution design workshops, managing release plans and coordinate and participate in user acceptance, defect, and production ready testing (i.e., Software Development Lifecycle – SDLC).
  • Working closely with the Road Safety staff and other stakeholders in the design of applicable systems which is transferable to existing business processes and systems.

About You:

As an ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated ability to apply project management methodologies to develop and maintain reporting, governance, budget, scope, schedule, risks and issues.
  • Experience in planning and managing software releases and updates, by applying working knowledge of software development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management for complex software, encompassing the entire development lifecycle and the creation of key change management artifacts such as user guides.   

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Technology or related field is desirable.
  • Experience applying the principles and practices of the Software Development Lifecycle.
