About Us

The Strategic Communication Branch delivers communication services on behalf of the department's business units to inform and educate the community and staff about departmental policies, programs and legislation.

About the Role

The Officer works in the Digital Communication team and provides timely communication support and advice for the department's business units, senior executive and ministerial offices.

The Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that the department's website, intranet, social media and community engagement channels are accurate and up-to-date. This includes writing, updating, scheduling and publishing web, social media and intranet content.

About You

The Strategic Communication Branch is looking for a new staff member to help us manage our digital channels. We're looking for someone with great writing skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of SEO and accessibility. You'll enjoy working with others, including colleagues and clients, and producing great outcomes for the Victorian community. And you'll know your way around content management systems and social media publishing sites.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Technical Expertise:

  • Experience in using content management systems, in particular Drupal and Sitecore.
  • Experience in using Canva.
  • Awareness of Victorian State Government digital policies and processes including branding, visual style guidelines and website standards.

  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Accept changed priorities without undue discomfort. Responds quickly to changes. Comfortable working in collaboration with teams outside of own organisation.
