The Working with Children Check Unit assists in protecting children from sexual or physical harm by ensuring that people who engage in “child-related work” have their suitability to do so checked by a government body.
The Review and Assessment Team within the unit assesses Working with Children Check applications with the primary focus being on those applicants who have relevant offences or findings, as defined under the Working with Children Act 2005.
About the role
As the Senior Review and Assessment Officer, you will undertake the review and assessment of complex Working with Children Check applications and produce comprehensive and accurate assessments in a timely manner.
The following fixed-term positions are available: 2 positions for up to four months, 1 position for up to seven months, and 1 position for up to twelve months.
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- demonstrated experience working with legislation and its application within an operational environment
- experience in working with information of a sensitive nature and the application of relevant legislation and principles in regard to Confidentiality, Privacy and Freedom of Information
- proven capacity to provide a clear sense of direction and contribute at a high level to the achievement of team and program outcomes in a challenging environment.
