About the Team:

The Recruitment Services branch within People, Safety and Culture provides expert advice and support to the department on all recruitment related matters, including attraction, selection, redeployment and other recruitment and retention practices. Working within the department's vision for a justice and community safety system that works together to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria, Recruitment Services delivers consultative, progressive, innovative, fair and ethical recruitment solutions.

The Recruitment Operations Team are responsible for provision of accurate and efficient recruitment administration, authoritative advice, and customer service activities in a fast-paced, high output environment.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager Recruitment Operations and Projects, the Recruitment Operations Supervisor supports and leads the day-to-day operations of the team, as well as providing administrative, policy, process and customer service support to management, hiring managers, candidates and other stakeholders on a wide range of recruitment related matters. Please note this role does not usually assist with end to end recruitment.

About the Role:

Some of your duties will include:

  • Leading the day-to-day work program and performance of the Recruitment Operations team.
  • Providing timely, accurate advice on recruitment policies, processes and best practice, including complex enquiries, which at times may require escalation.
  • Enhancing operational effectiveness by identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the department to achieve team and organisational objectives. 
  • Ensuring vacancies are advertised by the team attractively and accurately.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience supervising an administrative support or customer service team, ideally within a large or complex organisation, and in working with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience in providing authoritative advice on HR and recruitment policies and processes.
  • The ability to work in a time sensitive, fast-paced and dynamic environment with high volume processing activity.
  • Strong planning and coordination skills to prioritise competing tasks and meet agreed timeframes.
  • High attention to detail, with clear written and verbal communication.
