- Practice development and guidance across Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) including the Victims of Crime Helpline, the Victims Register, and other relevant VSSR services/programs, including the Victims Assistance Program
- An Ongoing, Full-Time opportunity
- VPS Grade 5: $109,730 - $132,764, plus superannuation.
About Us
VSSR is part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination Division of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). VSSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of our justice system.
About the Role
Working closely with the Manager, Service Delivery Operations and the management team across related service delivery functions, the Senior Program Advisor is responsible for ensuring operational excellence and contractual management of the Victims Assistance Program across metropolitan and regional Victoria. In addition, the role assists with VSSR's Critical Incident Response planning and the capability uplift of staff to ensure they feel confident and equipped to respond to critical incidents.
About You
This role is well suited to an experienced practice professional with a track record in strong service delivery, knowledge of contract management, and who enjoys an opportunity to be a part of a team that is committed to ensuring victims' needs are supported with unwavering professionalism and respect.
To be successful in the role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in the community or social services sector, with practice experience in trauma-related, criminal justice, and/or victim services fields is highly advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in implementing appropriate theoretical frameworks, best practice models and innovative approaches in direct service provision
- Demonstrated understanding of the nature and dynamics of family violence, the legislative and service system contexts in which family violence services are delivered and best practice models of responding to victims
- Demonstrated experience in the administration and management of service delivery funding agreements including financial administration, and agency performance and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to organise and adapt to dynamic environments and workload, and to operate effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
- Excellent ICT, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Mandatory minimum requirements: a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent formal learning, including holding a Bachelor degree or above; or equivalent qualification. Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Workers (Recommendation 209). - Highly desirable: Minimum 5 years' experience in operational service delivery in social services sector, family violence service system or a related field is highly desirable.
- Desirable: Registration or eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or similar qualifications in relevant disciplines is desirable.
