Department policy stipulates that salary upon commencement is paid at the base of the salary range for the relevant grade. Any above base requests require sign off by an executive delegate and will be by exception only or where required to match the current salary of Victorian Public Service staff transferring at level.

About us

The Recruitment Services branch within People and Culture provides expert advice and support to the Department of Justice and Regulation on all recruitment related matters, including attraction, selection, redeployment and other recruitment and retention practices. Working within the department's strategic objective of “building a high performing justice system”, Recruitment Services delivers consultative, progressive, innovative, fair and ethical recruitment solutions.

About the role

As a Senior Employment and Transition Consultant, your responsibilities will fall across three portfolios:

  • Employment Program Management, which includes the delivery of the department's graduate and youth traineeship programs.
  • Redeployment Case Management, requiring specialised case management to surplus employees to assist them in securing alternate employment within the Victorian Public Service.
  • Recruitment Consulting, including undertaking all recruitment activities ranging from sourcing, screening, short-listing, interviewing, reference checking, offer management and outcome advice.

Senior Employment and Transition Consultants work closely with stakeholders to understand their business and what is required for current and future success.

Ongoing and fixed-term (until 30 June 2018) opportunities are available.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • subject matter knowledge and professional experience in designing, implementing and coordinating various recruitment selection tools and methodologies (e.g. end-to-end recruitment, executive recruitment, graduate and internship programs)
  • demonstrated understanding of the labour market, including current and emerging economic, social, and political levers for labour trends on a local, regional and global basis
  • superior communication and consultancy skills
  • a commitment to providing outstanding service to clients and stakeholders.

A qualification in human resources (or equivalent) would be highly regarded, although is not essential.
