Position Details

The Coroners Court of Victoria requires an experienced coder to accurately code all closed coronial investigation files.

  • Provide advice and follow through to Coroners, Court Staff and other agencies.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues.

About us

The Coroners Court of Victoria (CCOV) is an inquisitorial jurisdiction. Its role is to conduct an independent investigation into reportable deaths and fires, to find the cause of those deaths and fires. By its work, the CCOV contributes to the reduction of the number of preventable deaths and fires, the promotion of public health and safety and the administration of justice.

About the role

The primary responsibility of this role is the coding of coronial cases for Victoria. Coded data assists Coroners to identify emerging patterns and trends and is an important resource upon which coroners may draw on to assist them in formulating comments and recommendations contained within their findings.
