About us

The Criminal Law Policy and Operations division delivers strong unified policy on criminal justice matters. The Community Operations and Victim Support Agency is a business unit within Criminal Law Policy and Operations that is responsible for coordinating a whole of government approach to services for victims of crime and for representing the voice of victims within the Justice system.

The Data, Research, Evaluation and Analysis Team is responsible for data analysis and integrity and providing a robust evidence base for service delivery and policy development across the Community Operations & Victims Support Agency.

About the role

As the Research and Policy Officer, Data, you will:

  • support and lead data analysis and performance reporting to provide evidence around complex policy and service delivery issues
  • contribute to ongoing data quality review activities
  • support and lead stakeholder engagement and awareness in accordance with identified priorities and proactively build and maintain positive relationships
  • support the development and delivery of innovative focussed policy and projects.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • the ability to quickly develop and interpret one-way and two-way frequency tables, a sound understanding of data validation, and expert knowledge of MS Excel is essential
  • analytical thinking and application of knowledge where you will be able to gather, analyse and validate data from a wide range of sources and communicate findings by verbal and written means, for operational and strategic decision making
  • expereince in presenting data in various forms, including in reports, briefs, memos ad presentations.
