Position Details

  • The DJCS Registered Training Organisation (RTO) is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Course Development and Compliance Coordinator
  • VPSG 4 Classification
  • One (1) fixed-term, full-time opportunity available until 30/04/2024.

About Us

The Learning and Development team is responsible for four broad areas of learning and development activity across the department:

  • accredited training via the department's Registered Training Organisation [RTO],
  • corporate training and development,
  • training for custodial and community corrections officers, and
  • management of learning and performance systems.

About the Role

As an integral member of the department's Registered Training Organisation (RTO) team, the Course Development and Compliance Coordinator will coordinate the development of DJCS accredited qualifications and units of competency, that target adult learners in a work-based learning environment.

The Course Development and Compliance Coordinator will work with program coordinators and subject matter experts to create, update and maintain qualifications on the RTO's scope of registration. This includes pre and post validation of assessment materials, mapping learning and assessment tasks and maintaining training and assessment strategies.

The Course Development Coordinator also supports the range of central RTO functions, which may include maintaining various RTO policies and procedures and templates.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Experience in managing the development of nationally accredited qualifications and/or units of competency, that comply with AQTF standards and VRQA and/or ASQA guidelines
  • Experience in instructional design in vocational education and training, that comply with AQTF standards and VRQA and/or ASQA guidelines
  • The ability to build a supportive and cooperative team environment, as well as engaging other teams to share information in order to understand or respond to issues. Also able to support others in challenging situations
  • The ability to define tasks to be delivered to meet agreed outcomes, as well as coordinate and guide others in the execution of work activities. Able to monitor the progress of tasks against plans and take corrective action when required
  • The ability to see things from another's point of view and confirm understanding, as well as understanding the motivations, needs and wants of stakeholders and their impact on service delivery. Also able to tailor communications according to audience and/or audience preference.

To be considered, the applicant must demonstrate experience in the development of nationally accredited course materials and RTO policies that comply with Vocational Education and Training [VET] standards and Victorian Registration and Qualification Authority [VRQA] guidelines.

Holding a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification is desirable
