Position Details

  • Manage the delivery of administrative and support services provided by Justice Officers.
  • Full time fixed term opportunity until December 2025 within the Hume Region.
  • VPS Grade 4: $92,332 - $104,762 plus superannuation.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Business Support Supervisor to provide a critical role within Corrections and Justice Services.

 

About the Business Unit

The Hume Region delivers a range of services through Justice Service Centres at Wangaratta, Shepparton, Seymour and Wodonga and at outreach locations in Myrtleford, Benalla, Cobram, Mansfield and Corryong.  The region also has two minimum security prisons; the Beechworth Correctional Centre and H.M. Prison Dhurringile.

Corporate Services is responsible for providing the region with a range of corporate support functions including human resources, finance and procurement, infrastructure, administration and workforce development.

The business support team provides advice and support on a range of services including, but not limited to, reception, fleet, corporate records, mail, Justice Service Centre security and maintenance, stationery, purchasing, customer service delivery, Prisoner stores, monies, and canteen and region wide business area administration support services.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, Corporate Services; the Business Support Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing three Justice Officer Team Leaders and a team of Justice Officers to ensure the delivery of high quality and efficient business support services to clients, staff and stakeholders across the Hume Region.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Manage the recruitment of Business Support Services staff members to ensure that the provision of appropriate levels of service can be maintained at all times.
  • Manage and lead three Justice Officer Team Leaders who are responsible for the day to day line management of a team of Justice Officers.
  • Manage the effective delivery of a range administration and business support services provided by Justice Officers across Hume Region by planning and prioritising the day-to-day work and resource allocation, training and development and performance management of the team.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary business support/administration team.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing solution-based advice and support to management and teams.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications

  • A current full Victorian Drivers Licence is essential.
