Position Description

Position Details

  • Lead reviews that improve safety in justice settings.
  • Assess serious incidents and help shape system change.
  • Work on complex cases, including deaths in custody.
  • Build strong insight and influence key decisions.
  • Ongoing, full-time role earning $100,894 - $114,476 per year, plus super.

What you will do

As review officer, you will assess incidents and lead detailed reviews.

You will help improve safety, fairness and outcomes in justice systems.

You will:

  • undertake complex reviews of deaths, incidents and system issues
  • analyse detailed data to find risks, trends and key insights
  • prepare clear reports, briefings and advice for senior leaders
  • monitor ongoing actions and track how recommendations are applied
  • apply respectful and trauma-informed approaches in all work.

About you

You do not need a formal qualification, but a relevant tertiary degree is desirable.

You bring strong writing and communication skills for reports and briefings.

You should also have:

  • strong analysis skills and sound judgement in complex matters
  • high resilience and ability to manage confronting content
  • good teamwork and ability to work across different groups
  • a focus on inclusion and respect for diverse backgrounds.
