The Department of Justice and Community Safety leads the delivery of justice services in Victoria supporting the strategic objective of “building a high performance justice system” the recruitment services department is pivotal to its success.

Recruitment Services deliver a range of practical and innovative solutions to source and select the best talent for our department. Our team is made up of passionate, quick thinking individuals who come together in collaboration to deliver exceptional service.

The Campaigns team provide critical candidate attraction and recruitment delivery for stakeholders across various portfolios including Honorary Justice Services Support, Forensic Intervention Services (allied health) and Sherriff's Office Victoria amongst others.

The Senior Talent Business Partner provides expert advice and support across all talent related activities ranging from sourcing, screening, short-listing, interviewing, reference checking, offer management and outcome advice. Additionally, demonstrated capability in the design, implementation and training of best practice recruitment processes is required.

Pivotal to success in this role is the ability to listen to stakeholders and influence via regular consultation, the ability to meet delivery timelines, proactive attraction campaigns and future workforce planning, and the review of current and previous processes with a mindset of improvement and innovation, as well as ensuring all recruitment delivery aligns to departmental policies, procedures and values. 

You will possess considerable recruitment knowledge and gravitas to respond to queries from senior staff members and the ability to provide sound and accurate advice to more junior members of Recruitment Services.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • A significant breadth of recruitment knowledge and experience, able to independently manage the full recruitment lifecycle and proactive candidate sourcing strategies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the labour market including current and emerging economic, social, and political levers for labour trends on a local, regional and global basis.
  • Prior recruitment experience and sector understanding of health, volunteer and/or government would be highly desirable.
  • Subject matter knowledge and professional experience in designing, implementing, and coordinating various recruitment selection tools and methodologies (e.g. campaign volume recruitment, end-to-end recruitment, executive recruitment).
  • A tertiary qualification in HR, Management or a related field is highly desirable.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with peers, senior managers and stakeholders, with a focus on understanding stakeholder issues and gaining cooperation.
  • A history of being able to contribute to recruitment strategic projects and continuous improvement processes.
