About the Project
The Department of Transport, has contracting relationships with our major train and tram operators - Yarra Trams & Metro Trains Melbourne, managed on behalf of the Victorian Government. DoT is establishing a new project team, which will be comprehensively reviewing the State's franchise framework.

About the Opportunity
This role will be required to lead the Operations and Performance work stream and work closely with the broader project team to deliver on the project objectives. This includes accountability for assessing and providing advice on operational performance outcomes to be achieved through future agreements.

About You
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in providing senior stakeholders with high quality advice and leading highly functioning teams to drive transport outcomes for complex government projects, ideally in a public transport setting.

 Qualifications

Mandatory
• Proven record of leading operational performance analysis, developing and specifying service delivery requirements, operational performance regimes and standards, and managing public transport franchises for compliance with contractual, legislative and regulatory obligations, and advice on complex passenger rail projects.
• Demonstrated experience working on major commercial projects in either public and/or private sectors, including with a range of procurement models.

Desirable
• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, commerce, finance, economics, business management or related technical or commercial discipline
• May involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel.
