About the Opportunity

The Senior Manager, Transport Technology Planning role will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of the business and ensure that the opportunities that technology presents to Transport Services remain at the forefront of business thinking.

The role will be responsible for delivering actionable technology strategy and tactical technology plans to the Transport Services group within the Department of Transport. The Transport Services group is responsible for the delivery of transport services across the public transport, and road network in Victoria. The role will work closely with both the technology teams and the business to ensure actionable technology strategy and plans are developed and maintained.

This is a senior role within the Business Technology team that will be critical to improving both the customer experience and operational efficiency through better use of, and investment in, technology across transport in Victoria. The successful candidate will be able to effectively and persuasively engage at the senior executive level. This is especially important with regards to clearly articulating how technology can be employed to enhance the delivery of transport services and associated business challenges.

The role will be critical to ensuring a coordinated, effective and efficient approach to the investment in technology across all modes of transport.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

• Broad experience within the technology sector with extensive knowledge of strategy development, planning, and program delivery. Experience gained within an asset intensive organisation and customer driven environment would be a significant advantage.

• Proven ability to navigate and work effectively in large, complex organisations.

• Deep understanding and demonstrable knowledge and experience in technology strategy and planning and enterprise architecture functions utilising industry standard models and frameworks.

• Ability to see the big picture, with significant experience and skill in communicating technical issues and initiatives both written and verbal in an effective manner to executive-level stakeholders to influence decision making.

• Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies and how these can be deployed to transform business processes and services to ensure the business continually meets customer needs. Experience with operational technologies would be an advantage.

• Experience in leading the development of compelling business cases to deliver against actionable technology strategies and make meaningful business impact.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
