About the Team

Our Project Delivery Team manage multiple and diverse projects being delivered for Transport Operations under the Smarter Roads Programme. The Transport Operations team manage the transport network in real time, relieving congestion resulting from planned and unplanned incidents through interventions such as incident notifications to media, on-road incident response vehicles and personnel, detour implementation, lane use management and signal cycle modifications.

About the Opportunity

Reporting into the Senior Manager Project Delivery Transport Operations, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex, high value stakeholder infrastructure or technology projects with a focus on client management of a portfolio of projects to agreed scope, time, quality and budget and ensuring project outcomes achieve DoT safety, operational, asset management, customer and commercial objectives. 

The role will provide project management including the scoping, procurement and implementation of systems to support effective operations of the Transport Operations Centre (TOC). A key part of your role will be to ensure timely development of commercial arrangements with delivery partners and project stakeholders that maximise value for money for the State, and lead to the successful delivery of projects.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and implementation of infrastructure or system projects.
  • Thorough understanding of Project Management, Governance principles and contractual arrangements including a demonstrated ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder projects from design conception to conclusion of project.
  • Ability to lead commercial and technical negotiations with system suppliers
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management skills including the ability to negotiate and influence decisions both internally and externally. 
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills including presentations, preparation of project scopes, reports, briefs, and correspondence on complex issues associated with delivery of projects. 
  • Possess a high level of understanding in the management of technical interfaces and attention to detail
